We keep the following principles and fundamentals in mind when designing our game and its mechanics.&#x20;

In going through the various features of Crossroads: Myth below, you will come across some of these principles in action, either alone or in conjunction with another.&#x20;

### 1. Accessibility and Affordability&#x20;

At the heart of our game, we believe Crossroads: Myth should be as accessible and affordable as possible to players worldwide.&#x20;

This ensures a wider distribution of players and reduces any financial risk or commitment.

### 2. **Asset Growth and Value Accumulation**

At the same time, we believe it is essential for players’ assets to grow in value over time, depending on his/her strategies and actions taken.&#x20;

In this way, our in-game assets’ value reflect not only its utility, but also a player’s investment in time, effort, and resources.

### **3. Minimize Pay-To-Win Disparities**

Although high-spending players may gain certain advantages, we acknowledge the necessity of maintaining a balanced playing field.&#x20;

Through the combination of time-based requirements and the Action Point system, Crossroads: Myth limits the influence of financial resources and provides fairer opportunities to all players.

### 4. **Strategy, Skills, and Luck**

Beyond financial resources, and to foster an engaging and competitive environment, players will have to make decisions based on their strategy and skills.&#x20;

Luck and serendipity may also prove to be more important at times.

### 5. **Community and Collaborative Gameplay**

Emphasizing community engagement and group-play aligns with the ethos of web3 communities, and forms an integral part of our game's development.&#x20;

We aim to bolster community-driven interaction and promote collaborative problem-solving.

### 6. **Casual and Time-Efficient Gameplay**

Recognizing that our primary audience comprises working adults within the web3 community, we make Crossroads: Myth enjoyable without demanding excessive time commitment.&#x20;

Our game design will prioritize casual, fun, and yet time-efficient gameplay.&#x20;

### 7. **Scalability and Flexibility**

Crossroads: Myth is also designed with scalability in mind and can accommodate an ever-increasing player base without compromising or distorting the gameplay mechanics.&#x20;

### 8. **Innovative and Unique Gameplay**

We endeavor to develop unique gameplay elements that can cater to both casual and competitive web3 players, distinguishing Crossroads: Myth from other blockchain-based games as a unique game on its own.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FQtKFBlmWwMfqLonhPQWI%2Fhome-banner-human-dwarf-1.png?alt=media&amp;token=df185850-b3a8-4339-9682-d16cc185e396" alt=""><figcaption><p>Overview of Game Components and Mechanics</p></figcaption></figure>

There are a variety of game components and mechanics in Crossroads: Myth and we will provide a brief introduction here before going into detail for each of the relevant parts.

### **1.** [**Land**](/components/land-management)

Each land is a unique 1/1 NFT and can be obtained by using a “Land Deed Scroll”. When deployed by a player, each land will start to produce gold, with the amount determined by the land’s level which can be upgraded over time given enough investment by the player. However, there is a limit to the number of deployed lands a player can have at any time, depending on his level.\
\
“Land Deed Scrolls” can be obtained through booster packs, quests, and exploration. There is also no maximum supply set on the number of lands in the game.

### **2.** [**Units and Squads**](/components/units-and-squads)

Units are characters that players can deploy in a squad, after which they can send a squad to participate in quests or garrison them to protect their land from other players. Each race will have different units, with varying stats and abilities.

### 3. [**Equipment and Items**](/components/equipment-and-items)

Players can also equip units with weapons, armor and accessories to provide a boost to their combat prowess. Some weapons and armor may be upgraded to higher levels, or even enhanced by mana to become more powerful.&#x20;

There are also various one-use items throughout the game which can be used by players for temporary buffs or debuffs.

### **4.** [**Guilds**](/components/guild-management)

Players can choose to form guilds once they reach a higher level and pay the necessary costs in setting up a guild. Guilds can participate in dungeon raids and have access to a guild research tree that has benefits for their members. Guilds will have to be upgraded to increase the maximum number of members they can have.&#x20;

### 5. [World Map & Locations](/components/world-map-and-locations)

In Crossroads: Myth, players are presented with a rich, expansive world map teeming with a variety of locations to explore. It's a land filled with wonder, mystery, and adventure, inviting players to explore and interact with its many facets.

### **6.** [**Quests**](/components/quests-and-adventures)

Quests are tile-based maps that players can navigate and encounter monsters, treasures, or other opportunities and challenges. There are various types of quests that players can choose to undertake, with different requirements, rewards, and objectives.&#x20;

### 7. [**Monsters and Combat**](/components/combat-system-and-monsters)

There are various types of monsters across the lands of Mythenia. Squads can attack monsters or other players using one AP, and damage will be dealt to units and/or monsters in order of their speed.

### **8.** [**Companions**](/components/companions)

Companions are virtual pets that grow together with players. Each companion is a unique NFT and its name and description may be customized by players through a lorekeeper. A companion’s stats and attributes may also be upgraded over time based on a player’s actions.

### **9.** [**Vassals**](/mechanics/vassal-system)

The Crossroads: Myth Vassal system is similar to the scholarship system in other web3 games where experienced players may accept and guide new players (vassals) through the leasing of a Land NFT, lowering the barrier to entry for many.

### **10.** [**Booster Packs**](/mechanics/booster-pack-system)

There are various booster packs in Crossroads: Myth, some of which may be purchased with the in-game currency Gold or which may be obtained through quests. Players will receive random items when they open a booster pack.

### 11. [**Mercenaries**](/mechanics/mercenary-system)

When a squad is not in active use, a player can rent out his squad as mercenaries for other players to use in quests and raids. Units and items are locked for mercenary squads, and a player may reclaim his rented squad when the allotted rental period is up.

### **12.** [**Player Research**](/mechanics/player-progression-paths)

Each player may also choose to invest gold and time into research which can grant boosts in various areas from combat prowess to gold production for his lands. Each research tier will progressively require more gold and time before it is completed.

### **13.** [**Lorekeeper**](/mechanics/lorekeeper-system)

The lorekeeper system plays an important role in ensuring the customization of Mythenia’s assets are aligned with its lore. Players will have to engage the services of a lorekeeper at a fixed or pre-specified rate to customize their land, companion, or other unique assets.&#x20;

### **14.** [**Referral System**](/mechanics/referral-system)

Crossroads: Myth follows a tiered referral system that progressively rewards referrers based on the in-game progress of their referees up to a certain level where the players become more experienced.

# Target Audience

Discover Your Place in Crossroads: Myth

Crossroads: Myth is designed to cater to a diverse player base, including both casual and competitive gamers.&#x20;

Our unique blend of immersive world-building, strategic gameplay, and dynamic token economics creates an environment that appeals to a broad range of play styles.

Also, our gameplay and system designs are deliberately flexible to ensure all players can enjoy and immerse themselves in our game world, irrespective of their gaming style or the time they can dedicate to play.

### **Gameplay Design**

One such design is the Action Point (AP) system. It's a gameplay mechanic where each player is allotted a certain amount of AP that replenishes every half an hour.&#x20;

This system ensures that playing Crossroads: Myth doesn't necessitate a large time commitment, but rather allows progress and advancement through strategic use of the allocated APs.<br>

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FmyfZJT8A7G2VXUehCYh0%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=80c92f29-e883-48fa-b016-a487865b673e" alt="" width="450"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Casual Gamers

For casual gamers, the game offers engaging in-game activities, quests, and the ability to own land, all of which can be enjoyed at their own pace.&#x20;

The rewards from these activities come in the form of resource tokens, making it possible for casual gamers to actively participate in the in-game economy.&#x20;

Casual gamers can also appreciate the flexible AP structure as it allows for fitting gameplay into breaks or spare moments throughout the day.&#x20;

Actions, quests, and resource management within the game can be navigated at their own pace, without the pressure of needing to allocate large blocks of time to play.

Overall, they can enjoy the elements of world-building, lore creation, and the thrill of opening booster packs at their leisure to enhance their gaming experience.

### Competitive Gamers

On the other hand, competitive gamers will find a challenging environment where performance directly impacts the rewards they receive, specifically the governance tokens.&#x20;

Their ranking and achievements in the game determine their eligibility to stake and earn from these tokens.&#x20;

Through the AP system, competitive gamers will also find an added layer of strategy to the game. Efficient and clever usage of AP can result in optimal performance and higher rankings.&#x20;

This encourages players to plan carefully and strategize their actions for maximum benefit, enhancing the competitive edge of the game.

Additionally, the introduction of elements like player-versus-player combat, guild boss raids, and the prospect of climbing the leaderboards adds the level of competition that these gamers thrive on.

Furthermore, the strategic depth involved in managing squads, choosing where to invest skill points, and utilizing intermediary tokens (GEMS) for special items and boosts caters to players who enjoy in-depth gameplay mechanics and tactical decision-making.

### Striking a Balance

By striking a balance between laid-back gaming and competitive elements, Crossroads: Myth aims to create a dynamic and inclusive community of players.&#x20;

With the integration of the AP system, Crossroads: Myth aims to create a harmonious balance that appeals to various gaming styles and time commitments.&#x20;

This inclusive approach is a testament to our commitment to providing a comprehensive gaming experience that respects and accommodates the players' unique lifestyles and gaming preferences.

Whether you're a casual player looking for an immersive gaming world, or a competitive gamer seeking a challenging and rewarding environment, Crossroads: Myth provides a platform for all.

# Land Management

Shape Your Dominion in the World of Mythenia

A Land NFT is one of the core components of Crossroads: Myth, being the only asset that produces in-game resources such as Gold.&#x20;

Lands also serves as in-game constraints where players are required to invest in upgrading their lands to higher levels either to produce more resources or as a prerequisite for other game activities.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2F7OsAduWFhSGiG2idRdZA%2Frace-lands.png?alt=media&amp;token=2a1bb91e-507b-40ee-be71-0bff5fee8bee" alt=""><figcaption><p>Sample Lands: Human | Elf | Dwarf</p></figcaption></figure>

### Minting

Lands are randomly minted, or generated, from a combination of 12 different aesthetic traits. Players are required to select their race before they can generate a “Land”.&#x20;

Thereafter, players can use one “Land Deed Scroll” to generate one random “Land” NFT which will start at Level One.&#x20;

“Land Deed Scrolls” may be obtained through various means such as the opening of booster packs, participation in quests and exploration, and the secondary market from other players.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FGbtqwC3NaBulnXe82Men%2Fland-scroll-concept.png?alt=media&amp;token=d5a05b14-9b99-4aa5-a966-95852dbda95b" alt=""><figcaption><p>Land Deed Scroll Concept</p></figcaption></figure>

### Exploration

Players may also choose to spend “Gold” and AP to send scouting parties which have a random probability of discovering a “Land Deed Scroll”. Each scouting mission comes with a success rate and a time limit before completion - both of which can be improved through research. Upon a successful discovery, the player will have obtained a new “Land Deed Scroll”.&#x20;

The number of scouting parties a player can send depends on several factors such as his level and number of “Lands” deployed.&#x20;

Exploration adds an additional layer of complexity to Crossroads: Myth. Players need to evaluate the trade-off between selling their "Land Deed Scrolls" directly on the marketplace for immediate gain, or reinvesting them into their current Lands. By choosing the latter, they can accumulate experience, increase their production, and elevate their Land and player level.

### Exploration Zones

These are special zones with a set number of "Land Deed Scrolls" that can be discovered, a certain chance of success, and specific entry requirements such as player levels or completed quests.

This game mechanic in "Crossroads: Myth" enables a more customized player progression. It ensures that latecomers can still enjoy the game without feeling disadvantaged by early participants. For instance, there might be a beginner's exploration zone exclusively accessible to players up to Level 5.

On the other hand, there might be zones with a significantly higher success rate, available only for a limited time or a certain number of successful discoveries. These zones motivate advanced players to meet the necessary criteria and strive to be the first ones to reach them.

### Deploying

“Lands” will only produce resources when they are deployed by players. The higher a player’s level, the more “Lands” he will be able to deploy at the same time, which will lead to increased resource production.

Players will be able to deploy lands belonging to their race without constraints. However, they will need to accumulate sufficient friendly relations with other races through quests in order to deploy lands belonging to other races.

*Note: Upon deployment of Land, the player’s “Land” NFT will be transferred to the Land Controller Smart Contract.*&#x20;

### Upgrading

Players can also choose to use “Land Deed Scrolls” to increase the level of their deployed land. Each upgrade will require an increasing number of resources, “Land Deed Scrolls”, and time before the upgrade is completed.&#x20;

Each upgrade will boost the “Land” production and storage capabilities at higher levels, and is an irreversible process.

### Deployment Delays

Whenever a "Land" is deployed, there will be a gradual delay period before it becomes fully functional and starts to produce resources. During this time, you cannot reverse the action or "undeploy" the land.&#x20;

Similarly, if you decide to undeploy a "Land", there will be a gradual period of "undeployment" during which production will decrease. Once this undeployment time is up, a player will need to confirm the undeployment to complete the process.&#x20;

The length of these delay periods for both deploying and undeploying depends on the current level of the Land. This design primarily aims to discourage any unfair tactics or botting behavior, such as using automated bots to repeatedly deploy and undeploy across multiple accounts for extra benefits.

Additionally, this encourages players to be more engaged with the game after their "Land" has been put into action, and it nudges them towards making long-run game-optimal decisions.

This design also helps maintain the worth of "Lands" and "Land Deeds". Sellers and Traders will need to consider the time and opportunity cost of their actions, which in turn protects the minimum value of these assets.

### Storage

Every "Land" has a maximum limit, or a "silo", on the amount of Gold and resources that can be left unclaimed. This limit increases when the Land is upgraded.

### Player vs Player (PvP)

Other players may choose to attack your "Land" using Action Point (AP). If an [attack](/components/combat-system-and-monsters) is successful, they will gain a portion of the Land's stored resources. The attacked Land will then experience a decrease in production, or may even be halted completely, until it is completely recovered.

### Garrison

A player may choose to protect his “Land” by assigning squads to garrison it. Garrisoned squads will defend your Land when it's attacked by other players, and may receive additional boosts and bonuses to their stats and attributes.

# Units & Squads

Building Your Ideal Team and Forces

Units and squads are fundamental to the battle system in Crossroads: Myth. Each squad can have a maximum of five units, and players can use these squads for the following purposes:

1. Embark on quests and adventures to uncover treasures and gather loot
2. Attack other players’ lands to plunder resources
3. Garrison land to defend against other player's attacks
4. Lease out to other players as mercenaries&#x20;

Units are usually capable of being upgraded. They can be advanced after gaining sufficient battle experience and upon meeting the prerequisite resources, such as gold.&#x20;

### Classification

Units can be classified according to three main categories: Tier, Class Type, and Damage Type

### Tiers

This refers to the power, resilience, and overall capability of a unit. Higher-tier units generally have superior stats, power, or other attributes, which makes them more effective in combat.&#x20;

However, they also have a correspondingly higher cost for upkeep and upgrades. Tiers are divided into three categories:

* **Light Tier:** These units are often quicker but have lower power and resilience. They are less expensive to maintain and upgrade, making them a good choice for beginners or cost-conscious players.
* **Medium Tier:** These units provide a balance between power, resilience, and upgradability. They require a moderate amount of resources for maintenance and are suitable for players seeking to build a well-balanced squad.
* **Heavy Tier:** These are the most powerful and resilient units, but they also usually demand a significant investment for maintenance and upgrades. However, their high combat effectiveness can make them worth the cost for many players.

### Class Type

This category denotes a unit's role and unique abilities in combat.

* Attack: Units under this class directly engage in battle on the frontlines, taking the fight to the enemy and are usually the heavy hitters of the squad.
* Magic: Magic units harness mystical abilities to inflict damage on adversaries.
* Tank: Tank units are known for their high durability, absorbing damage and protecting more vulnerable units.
* Range: Ranged units employ long-distance attacks, keeping them safe from immediate retaliation.
* Special: Units in this class possess unique skills and come in varied forms. This can include Support (healing or buffing allies), Assassin (dealing high damage to specific targets), Aura (continuous area-of-effect affecting multiple units), and more.
* Unique: Unique units combine attributes from different classes, creating hybrid roles such as a combined Tank and Magic class. These units offer versatility and unique strategic advantages.

### Damage Type

This classification indicates the kind of damage a unit inflicts upon opponents.

* Physical Damage: Units causing physical damage use their physical strength in combat, represented by a Fist icon.
* Magical Damage: Units dealing magical damage employ mystical powers to harm adversaries, represented by a Fireball icon.

In essence, the cost of maintaining and upgrading units will depend on their tier and class type. Higher-tier units usually have better stats and power, but they also require more resources to keep up and improve.

### Race Considerations

Each race will have distinct units with unique stats and abilities.&#x20;

If a player from one race wants to recruit units from a different race, they need to build a friendly relationship with that race through quests and activities. To upgrade units from another race, players must reach a corresponding relationship level with that race.

### Types of Battles

There are three primary kinds of battles in the game:

1. **PvP (Player vs Player):** This involves squad vs squad combat such as through one player attacking another player’s land
2. **PvE (Player vs Environment):** This involves single or multiple squads battling against various monsters they come across during their quest adventures
3. **Monster Boss Raid:** Through dungeon raids by guilds, this will pit multiple squads against powerful monster bosses

### Squad Combat Readiness

Players can have multiple combat squads depending on their level.&#x20;

Squads in "Ready" mode allow players to switch units or alter their equipment. A squad achieves "Ready" mode when all its units are revived, fully healed, and not engaged in any combat or raid.&#x20;

**Revive/Heal:** Players can revive or heal their squad using Gold. The price for this service varies based on unit tiers, class types and levels. Alternatively, players can use items to revive or heal the units in their squad.

**Equipment:** Units may also equip items according to their class. Each unit has three item slots comprising a slot each for Weapon, Armor, and Accessory.

**Upgrading Units:** To advance a unit to the next level, players need to accumulate sufficient experience for that unit and possess two other NFTs of the same unit. Higher-level upgrades may require additional resources and items, such as Crystals or other quest items.

**Combat History and Experience:** A squad’s historical stats will also be recorded on-chain in terms of number of battles, victories, and defeats for each of the combat types. The squad’s history will not be reset even if squad units are switched out.

### Sample Units

# Equipment & Items

Your Journey Lies in Your Gear

Crossroads: Myth presents an expansive inventory of equipment and items, enriching the gameplay and adding layers of strategy. &#x20;

Players are also granted the ability to upgrade and enhance their units' equipment, primarily weapons and armor - this helps to ensure that players can incrementally improve their gear and become prepared for more challenging battles and quests.

This versatile range caters to various in-game requirements and situations, thereby allowing players to mold their game plan according to their preferences.

### Equipment

In the realm of Crossroads: Myth, each unit possesses three slots for equipment - a slot each for Weapon, Armor, and Accessory. This provides players with the opportunity to customize and enhance their unit's abilities based on their strategic stance.

**Weapon:** Each unit can be equipped with a weapon that can significantly augment their attack capabilities. The choice of weapon can drastically influence the battle outcome, making this an integral part of the unit's equipment.

**Armor:** Armor is a crucial defense mechanism for each unit. It serves to protect the unit from the brunt of enemy attacks, thereby increasing the unit's endurance and survivability during battles.

**Accessory:** The accessory slot adds another layer of customization. These can range from items that provide special abilities to ones that boosts the unit's existing capabilities, allowing for more nuanced strategizing.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FsvF3NVCF3ogMc30q7KLG%2Fitems-sample-1.png?alt=media&amp;token=ec661ae8-b8f6-4ada-85f5-35f3751b6fbe" alt=""><figcaption><p>A random assortment of accessories, weapons, and armor</p></figcaption></figure>

### Upgrading Equipment

Equipment upgrading primarily involves the use of in-game Gold and the services of Blacksmiths. The goal here is to improve the base stats of the equipment, making them more effective in battles.

The process of upgrading involves a certain amount of Gold depending on the current level of the equipment and the desired level. It's important to note that the process of upgrading equipment is associated with a higher rate of success compared to enhancing equipment with mana.&#x20;

This means that players can reliably invest in upgrading their equipment to bolster their combat capabilities over time.

### Enhancing Equipment

Enhancing, on the other hand, is a riskier and potentially more rewarding procedure that primarily uses Mana Crystals. Facilitated by the mystical skills of Runemasters, enhancing involves infusing the equipment with magical energy, amplifying their power to a much greater degree.

Although enhancing generally comes with a lower success rate compared to upgrading, successful enhancement can provide a significant boost to the equipment, which can play a decisive role in some battles.&#x20;

### Items

Items in Crossroads: Myth serve a multitude of purposes — some are consumable, while others can be used for quests or other in-game applications.

**Consumables:** Consumable items include healing potions, which can restore units' health points during or after battles, and dispelling potions, which are used to negate status effects like poison and paralysis. These items play a critical role in maintaining the unit's combat readiness and can be used strategically during battles or quests.

**Quest-Related Items:** These items are typically found or rewarded during quests. They can serve various purposes - some may advance the quest, while others might provide bonuses or unlock new areas or challenges. The utilization of these items adds depth to the gameplay, making each quest a unique adventure.

**Miscellaneous Items:** These are a diverse range of items that can be used for a variety of purposes. Their uses can vary widely, from crafting materials to rare artifacts that hold power within the game world.

Overall, the extensive range of equipment and items in Crossroads: Myth not only adds to the game's depth and complexity but also ensures that each player's experience is unique, flexible, and highly customizable.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2Fv9nGY0oqFoeaXWjRYsZq%2Fitems-equipment.png?alt=media&amp;token=99df0f7e-df28-417b-a7b4-0147cbbaba75" alt=""><figcaption><p>Sample Equipment : Weapons, Armor, and Accessories</p></figcaption></figure>

# Guild Management

Find Strength in Unity: Lead, Inspire, and Conquer

Guilds add a dynamic layer of cooperation and strategy to Crossroads: Myth. Once players meet certain level requirements and can afford the registration fee, they can create a Guild, fostering a collaborative environment for friends and fellow players.

On the blockchain, each guild will be a separate smart contract on its own.&#x20;

### Guild Perks

Being part of a Guild allows players to engage in Guild raids, which can yield special rewards and achievements.&#x20;

Members can also benefit from Guild Research, which boosts players’ capabilities in areas such as combat, land production, and exploration, among many other benefits.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FnK9ZQI8ub3ZfhQ7uUrto%2Fnew-guild.png?alt=media&amp;token=e263e834-4c19-43ec-b885-876c7756e558" alt="" width="450"><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

### Guild Leadership & Governance

Upon their creation, the guild governance may be set to either a democratic (one player, one vote) or an autocratic one (leaders’ control).

The two main roles within a Guild are Leaders and Executives, who have the power to manage the guild’s memberships and promotions of members.&#x20;

A Guild may also choose to have multiple roles, each with varying voting power, to shape democratic governance decisions.

This flexible structure allows each Guild to operate in a way that's familiar to its members, particularly if they are already part of established groups and communities from outside Crossroads: Myth.

### Guild Contribution

A Guild can also opt to implement a contribution system where a fraction of its members' production from their Lands are automatically donated to the Guild.&#x20;

This means that whenever a player collects Gold or resources from their Lands, a certain percentage is directly transferred to their Guild which can then be used for research or to acquire more valuable items.

### Guild Development

The direction of Guild research is dependent on its governance structure. It could be determined by the Guild leader or through a governance vote.&#x20;

The research conducted by the Guild can focus on various areas, such as enhancing combat stats, improving production efficiency (such as increased yields), or proficiency in scouting and exploration to increase the success probability of discovering Land Deed Scrolls.

### Guild Raids

To initiate a Guild raid, a special NFT used to summon a dungeon is needed. This special token can be assembled from various fragments, much like piecing together a treasure map, that can be obtained by chance from booster packs, quests, or monster drops.

Only Guild leaders or executives have the ability to assemble and use this token, which can be activated at their discretion or sold on the secondary marketplace.

Once the special token is used, its specific dungeon appears only for a limited duration and vanishes once its timer is up.

Guild members have this brief window of time to enter the dungeon and complete its objective by defeating the dungeon boss, which is a special type of monster possessing unique actions, effects, and extremely powerful stats.

Dungeon bosses can perform a variety of randomly decided actions when attacked. Some may even enter a "Rage" mode when their health drops below a certain point, altering the probabilities and effects of their actions.

Therefore to have a better chance at success, a Guild must strategize and carefully consider the composition of their members' combat squads before summoning and confronting a monster boss.

### Dungeon Rewards

If a dungeon boss is successfully vanquished, the rewards can be allocated to all Guild members or a specified Guild executive, depending on the Guild's established governance settings.&#x20;

When rewards are distributed to all members, the allocation is based on the total damage each member has inflicted. These rewards come in the form of unique dungeon-boss treasure chests which have higher chances of dropping rare items when opened.

### Dungeon Achievements

Guild members who have participated in the battle and dealt a significant amount of damage to the dungeon boss will receive an achievement. This achievement is a non-transferable FA2 token, also known as a soul-bound token.&#x20;

This achievement token is linked to the player's wallet and could potentially enhance certain player stats. For instance, a basic achievement might be earned for dealing at least 2% damage, while a higher-tier achievement could be awarded for dealing at least 10% damage.

# Quests & Adventures

Embark on Epic Quests, Unfold Legendary Tales.

Quests in Crossroads: Myth provide a unique and dynamic gaming experience for players.&#x20;

Each quest is individually or collectively tailored with distinct objectives, rewards, and prerequisites, offering various paths for players’ squad development and lore progression.&#x20;

With the option to undertake these quests solo or as part of a team, players are also encouraged to strategize and cooperate, fostering a sense of community within the game.&#x20;

These quests not only add depth and complexity to the gaming experience, but they also serve a key role in enhancing player engagement and ensuring sustained interest in the gameplay.&#x20;

Overall, quests facilitate player advancement, resource accumulation, and discovery of new in-game elements, making them a vital aspect of our gaming journey.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FTcjKojvuNl1qCNqEGnh8%2Fdwarven-quest-location.png?alt=media&amp;token=29e14f58-4f0a-43d4-9aeb-98d1519129ae" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Quest Area for players to explore in</p></figcaption></figure>

### Quest Design

Quests are designed as pre-set tile maps which are pre-generated at the start of the quest for the player, with random placement of monsters, treasures, and other items — resulting in a unique play-through for each player.&#x20;

Players may navigate their squad through the tiled quest map using either the keyboard or mouse, with a marker used to denote their position, and will be prompted to take certain actions when they come across various monsters, items, or other elements related to lore and gameplay.&#x20;

For collective quests that allow multiple players’ squads to participate as a party, there will be multiple markers representing each player on the map. These quests are usually more difficult and may require more coordination among players in completing the quest objectives.

### Quest Objectives

Quests may generally be divided based on their final objectives: "Fetch," "Fight," and "General".

In "Fetch" quests, the goal could be retrieving an item, assassinating a character, rescuing someone, or finding a hidden location. "Fight" quests may involve defending or attacking a territory or battling hordes of monsters.

"General" quests, on the other hand, can be split into two sub-categories: "Explore" and "Escort". "Explore" quests may require players to visit a location or interact with various objects, while "Escort" quests task players with safely transporting someone to a designated destination.

### Quest Prerequisites

Some quests may have specific requirements for participation, such as player levels, race, race relations, the highest-leveled unit in the squad, completion of prerequisite quests, and player research levels, among others.

# Combat System & Monsters

Your Guide to the Battlefield: Monsters & Combat

An integral part of Crossroads: Myth is its dynamic combat system, where players command squads comprising of up to five adventurers to take on quests.&#x20;

In these quests, players may encounter a diverse array of monsters, igniting battles where strategy, unit attributes, and an element of luck intertwine.

### Attacking Monsters

On their journey, players spend Action Points (AP) to engage their adventurer’s squad with monsters, events and objects of interest.

Each monster encounter is a unique battle event, manifested as a transaction on the blockchain, with results stemming from a careful blend of random elements and the statistical attributes of the squad's units and monsters.

The order of attack hinges on the *speed* stat of the units and monsters; the swiftest get to strike first. The positioning of units in the squad's formation matters as well.

Depending on their type, units may target foes at the forefront, rear, or the entire enemy squad at once, inflicting damage or executing abilities unique to them.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FhzNsBo9e1cuiRHnydGNa%2Fmonsters-sample.png?alt=media&amp;token=2092a72a-6a7d-4a61-8b0d-b97680251a6f" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Sample of Monsters Found in Crossroads: Myth</p></figcaption></figure>

### Unit Health & Recovery

The toughness of a unit is measured by their health. When a unit's health is depleted, they become incapacitated and cannot continue to fight. However, players have several strategies for restoring their units' health and bringing them back into the fray.&#x20;

Healing items like potions, or the special abilities of certain units, can revive or rejuvenate the fallen, ensuring they return to the battle and contribute to the squad's victory. Once their ongoing quest is completed or abandoned, players can also return to their main cities to heal their squad.

### Overcoming Hordes of Monsters

Players might find themselves facing numerous monsters at once. In such instances, they might need to spend multiple APs to launch attacks capable of vanquishing these enemy groups.&#x20;

This creates an additional layer of strategy and resource management, as players must carefully consider when and where to utilize their available APs.

This combat system injects Crossroads: Myth with a unique mix of chance, strategy, and adaptability, providing players with an ever-evolving, dynamic and immersive gameplay experience.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FLi6rdodGCK3IH1m8Kkoa%2Fmonsters-sample-2.png?alt=media&amp;token=b542b3db-def1-4b02-953b-261f85131fa7" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Sample of Monsters Found in Crossroads: Myth</p></figcaption></figure>

### Unit Statistics

Each unit in Crossroads: Myth possesses a range of statistics that defines its capabilities on the battlefield.

These stats govern everything from a unit's health and attack power to their defense and evasion abilities. They play a crucial role in deciding the outcome of a battle.&#x20;

Here's a breakdown of each statistic:

1. totalHp: This represents a unit's total health points (HP). The higher the HP, the more damage a unit can sustain before being incapacitated.
2. currentHp: This signifies a unit's current HP during a battle. This decreases when a unit takes damage and can be restored through healing abilities or items.
3. physicalAttackMin & physicalAttackMax: These determine the minimum and maximum physical damage a unit can inflict on an opponent.
4. physicalAttackPenFlat & physicalAttackPenPercent: These stats represent a unit's ability to bypass an opponent's physical defense. Flat Penetration directly reduces the opponent's defense, while Percent Penetration reduces it by a percentage.
5. physicalAttackBoostFlat & physicalAttackBoostPercent: These stats boost a unit's physical attack value, either by a flat increase or a percentage increase.
6. physicalDefence: This represents a unit's resistance to physical attacks. The higher the physical defence, the less damage a unit takes from physical attacks.
7. physicalDefenceBoostFlat & physicalDefenceBoostPercent: These stats boost a unit's physical defence, either by a flat increase or a percentage increase.
8. magicPowerMin & magicPowerMax: These determine the minimum and maximum magic damage a unit can deal to an opponent.
9. magicPowerPenFlat & magicPowerPenPercent: These stats represent a unit's ability to penetrate an opponent's magic defense, either by a flat amount or a percentage.
10. magicPowerBoostFlat & magicPowerBoostPercent: These stats boost a unit's magic power, either by a flat increase or a percentage increase.
11. magicDefence: This indicates a unit's resistance to magic attacks. The higher the magic defence, the less damage a unit suffers from magic attacks.
12. magicDefenceBoostFlat & magicDefenceBoostPercent: These stats boost a unit's magic defence, either by a flat increase or a percentage increase.
13. speed: This determines the order of attack in combat. Units with higher speed attack first.
14. physicalEvasion & magicEvasion: These stats dictate a unit's chance to dodge physical and magic attacks, respectively.

Understanding and effectively utilizing these stats is crucial for success in Crossroads: Myth's dynamic and strategic combat system.

# Companions

Forge Bonds, Shape Destiny: Journey With Your Faithful Companions

A distinguishing feature of Crossroads: Myth is the addition of Companions, virtual creatures that players can adopt and nurture like pets.&#x20;

More than mere vanity items, these Companions provide functional benefits to the player, infusing gameplay with added depth and personalized flair.

Each Companion is a 1/1 Non-Fungible Token (NFT), meaning that they hold a unique place not just in a player’s squad, but also in the broader game universe.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2Fp5Zj5VkGVhJJJUlBDUjp%2Fcompanions-sample.png?alt=media&amp;token=522497b9-79dc-484b-a8be-f2bf9517df31" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Sample of Companions Found in Crossroads: Myth</p></figcaption></figure>

### Leveling Up & Customization

Companions can be developed and upgraded using in-game resources and mystical Runestones, with each level-up boosting their abilities.

This progression system instills a sense of growing companionship between players and their virtual pets, as both grow stronger together over time.

In addition to their functional role, Companions also come with an aesthetic appeal.&#x20;

Players have the opportunity to change the visual appearance or "skin" of their Companions using various potions, which can be obtained through gameplay activities such as completing quests.&#x20;

This customization feature allows players to express their unique identity and style in the game.

### Supportive Role

In terms of gameplay function, Companions play a supportive role in an adventurer's squad. They provide aura or boost effects to the squad, with the specific effects and extent of the bonus determined by the Companion's ability and level.

This encourages strategic selection and development of Companions based on the player's preferred playstyle, and the needs of their adventurer's squad.

Overall, Companions add a delightful and rewarding layer of complexity to the Crossroads: Myth experience, bridging the gap between functional strategy and personal expression.&#x20;

They enhance gameplay by offering strategic advantages, while also providing opportunities for personalization and the fostering of a deeper connection to the game world.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FMZ4FF5GZfvDFu8mX10TL%2Fcompanions-sample-2.png?alt=media&amp;token=b39e1560-55e1-417a-91e4-7b3e6e98731a" alt=""><figcaption><p>A Sample of Companions Found in Crossroads: Myth</p></figcaption></figure>

### Customization through Lorekeepers

Further enhancing their individuality, Companions can be personalized with their own name and backstory using the Lorekeeper system. This narrative aspect brings each Companion to life in the game, complete with its own backstory and personality.&#x20;

This element of storytelling adds a rich layer of depth to each Companion, making them more than just supportive game pieces; they become characters that players can become emotionally invested in.

Not only do players strategize with their Companions in terms of gameplay mechanics, they can also create, shape, and tell their stories as they grow alongside together.

This heightens the sense of ownership and connection between the player and their Companion, making each Companion not just a part of the player's strategy, but a part of their gaming experience as well.

# Vassal System

Nurturing and Mentoring New Allies

Crossroads: Myth’s Vassal system encourages experienced players, known as Vassal Lords, to mentor and support new players who lack the knowledge and resources to fully engage in the game.&#x20;

It fosters inclusivity, encourages mentorship, and boosts player growth, creating a dynamic, robust player community.

### Vassal System

Mirroring the scholarship mechanic found in other web3 games, the Vassal system allows new players to borrow one or more “Lands” from a Vassal Lord and thereby fully participate in the game.&#x20;

Players have to fulfill certain requirements before they can become a Vassal Lord and take on new players as vassals.&#x20;

There is also a limited number of vassals that a player can have at any time, with more slots as the player levels up.

### Vassal Advantages

The Vassal System offers benefits to both parties. Vassal Lords can generate yield on otherwise idle "Lands" and scout potential guild members, while vassals can enter the game with minimal costs and benefit from the guidance of a seasoned player.

### Potential Risks for Vassal Lords

If a vassal becomes inactive or unresponsive, the Vassal Lord must wait until the contract's end to reclaim their Land.&#x20;

This increases the importance of finding the right players who have the time and resources to remain committed, especially since there is only a limited availability of vassal slots.

### Production Tax

A portion of a vassal's gold and resource production is automatically allocated to their Vassal Lord upon resource harvesting.&#x20;

This production tax also applies to any new or subsequent lands that the vassal deploys.

### Vassal Agreements

There are various fixed agreements which both vassal and vassal lords can enter into depending on their goals. These agreements are governed by our smart contracts to prevent any misuse, and take effect only upon mutual consent between parties.&#x20;

In general, the tax rate varies inversely with the agreement duration:

* For a 3-month contract, a 25% tax rate applies
* For 6 months, the tax reduces to 20%
* For 9 months, it's 15%
* And for 12 months, a 10% tax rate applies

### Repossession

After the agreed duration, a Vassal Lord may choose to retrieve the leased “Land” at any point in time unless the agreement is extended by both parties.&#x20;

If a repossession event occurs, the “Land” will go into its undeployment phase and may be reclaimed by the Vassal Lord once the phase is completed.&#x20;

### Protections

To prevent abuse, vassals cannot undeploy the leased "Land" or sell the “Land” as it belongs to the Vassal Lord.&#x20;

Conversely, vassal lords may also not reclaim their leased “Land” until the agreement duration period is over.&#x20;

### Order of Deductions

If a vassal is also part of a guild, the Vassal Production Tax is deducted first, followed by the Guild Tax on the remaining amount.

# Booster Pack System

A Dash of Serendipity in each Pack

Booster Packs are an essential game mechanic in Crossroads: Myth that add an element of surprise and randomness to the game.&#x20;

### Balanced Gameplay

It not only injects a degree of unpredictability but also serves as a tool to ensure balanced gameplay. By distributing items in a randomized fashion, it helps mitigate the risk of the game becoming overly pay-to-win, thus making the game more engaging and fair for all players, regardless of their level of investment.

### Opening Booster Packs

When players open a booster pack, they will receive a predetermined quantity of items. The items yielded, which depend on the type of the booster pack, are randomly selected through our [Random Number Generator (RNG) Smart Contract](/mechanics/random-number-generator-rng).

### Default Packs

Unique to each faction, the default booster packs predominantly yield items associated with their respective race (Humans, Elves, and Dwarves), thereby enhancing thematic immersion and promoting strategic planning based on the player's chosen race.&#x20;

Moreover, booster packs serve as a critical source of acquiring starter items, units, and potentially rare objects, stimulating an active and dynamic in-game economy.

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FAYUobcRZfjTJB96HvYlA%2Fbooster-packs.png?alt=media&amp;token=cd23d2b2-ea59-4b15-92b1-fe208bc0592a" alt=""><figcaption><p>Booster Packs: Human | Elves | Dwarves</p></figcaption></figure>

### Purchasing & Deflation

Players can acquire booster packs with XTZ or with the in-game currency, Gold. When purchases are made with Gold, the amount used is burned and removed from Crossroads: Myth as a means to combat inflation.

### Special Booster Packs

Apart from the standard packs, a variety of special booster packs may be earned as quest, dungeon boss, or raid rewards. Each pack has a unique probability distribution for different items.

As tradeable items, players can also weigh the chances of a lucky drop from opening a booster pack or choose to trade or sell it on the marketplace for other in-game resources, items, or Tez.&#x20;

# Mercenary System

Unleashing Power for Hire

The Mercenary system introduces a layer of flexibility by enabling players to use their squads in diverse ways. This feature allows players to lease out their squads, transforming them into income-generating assets.

It opens up new gameplay avenues for renters, who can temporarily enhance their capabilities by renting powerful squads, while owners receive an additional source of income.

The mercenary mechanic thereby fosters a dynamic rental market, enriching the game's economy and promoting player interaction.

### Lease Terms

Players have the option to lease their squads at a set rate per hour, with flexibility to establish minimum or maximum rental durations.

Renters must pay the total rental fee upfront to the owners and are responsible for returning the squad in a fully healed condition.

Owners may choose their choice of currency to be either in-game resources or in Tez. There will also be a small tax levied on the total rental fee.

### Usage Restrictions

While renters are permitted to deploy the rented mercenary squad for player vs player combat, monster encounters during quests, or guild boss raids, they are restricted from modifying the squad.&#x20;

This includes changing or reordering units, as well as removing any equipment or items. However, renters are permitted to use consumable items, such as healing potions, on the squad.

### Combat Progress

Throughout the lease, the mercenary squad will continue to accrue combat records and experience as well, adding to their value and appeal.

### Return & Penalties

Upon completion of the rental term, the mercenary squad may either be returned by the renter or reclaimed by the owner.&#x20;

Renters also have the choice to return the mercenary squad earlier before the completion of the rental term.

If the squad is not returned in a fully healed state, the renter cannot return it, even if the rental period is over.&#x20;

In this case, the owner can reclaim the squad and charge the healing fee. The renter will face a penalty under such circumstances.&#x20;

This aspect of the mercenary mechanic ensures a fair and balanced rental system.<br>

# Player Progression Paths

Forge Your Path to Success and Greatness

The uniqueness of Crossroads: Myth’s player system lies in its multiplicity of progression paths, striking a balance between combat, crafting, and research.&#x20;

It ensures that each player's journey is tailored, allowing them to allocate skill points and undertake research according to their gameplay style and strategy.&#x20;

By facilitating diverse progression opportunities, the player system enhances the game's depth, creating an immersive and dynamic player experience.&#x20;

Each player is free to develop in his or her own preferred way.

### Player Progression

The player system within the game provides a pathway for growth, ensuring players have a consistent sense of achievement and advancement.

By participating in various in-game activities such as combat, questing, or crafting activities, players gain experience, gradually improving their levels.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FgnJom48BatN4BsZ9fHyK%2Fimage.png?alt=media&amp;token=ca355706-ccfc-48ea-bdb9-5369134c06aa" alt="" width="450"><figcaption><p>Sharpen your skills and delve deep into research to unlock your full potential</p></figcaption></figure>

### Skill Acquisition

Every level up rewards players a skill point, which can be utilized to upgrade an array of combat, quest, or production-related skills. Players can also choose to hoard skill points to be used later; once a skill point is spent, it cannot be undone.

### Skill Varieties

Skills range from combat attributes, like boosting physical attack or defense for units, to production capacities like augmenting Land production or storage.

Each skill point invested will bring about a small increase in improvement. To maintain game balance, there may also be a limit on the number of points assignable to various skills.

### Research System

Besides skills, players can further enhance their stats and performance by investing in-game resources into research.

This system may amplify both combat and production abilities, similar to skill points.

Undertaking research demands both in-game resources such as Gold as well as time, with greater amounts of investment required for advanced research levels.

# Lorekeeper System

Preserve the Past, Shape the Future

The Lorekeeper system brings an element of individuality and immersion to the game world.&#x20;

By allowing Lorekeepers to add narratives to in-game elements such as “Companions” and “Lands”, it brings the world of Crossroads: Myth to life, enhancing the player experience.&#x20;

Not only does this system encourage player creativity and showcases literary skills, it also adds an additional layer of customization and personal investment in the game.&#x20;

This unique blend of gaming and storytelling sets Crossroads: Myth apart from other games, making the player’s journey a unique piece of the game's expanding lore.

### World Crafting

Lorekeepers are narrative architects, adept at writing and world creation. They hold the unique privilege of crafting the names and descriptions of singular items like player "Lands" and “Companions”.&#x20;

When a Lorekeeper creatively modifies a unique token, their name becomes a trait of the NFT as a means of record-keeping.

Overall, Lorekeepers embody a vital role in shaping the Crossroads: Myth universe, bringing it to life through immersive lore, compelling characters, and gripping narratives.

### Lorekeeper Induction

Aspiring Lorekeepers will need to submit samples of their work for review.&#x20;

Upon successful induction, they can then offer their creative services to other players through several fixed-price tiers, alongside an optional custom premium tier of their own designation.&#x20;

Note that this custom tier must exceed the value of the highest fixed tier.

### Job Limitations & Pricing Tiers

Each Lorekeeper may only take on a limited number of assignments at any given time; this limit can be incrementally increased on request.

The tiered pricing system simplifies transactions, curtailing price negotiations while giving popular Lorekeepers the flexibility to customize their services and provide extra value.

### Service Charge

Crossroads: Myth will claim a share of Lorekeeper services.&#x20;

In case of conflicts, Crossroads: Myth may also provide refunds to the affected parties or initiate a resolution process to settle any disagreement.

# Marketplace & Trading

Profit, Trade, Triumph

### Secondary Marketplace

In the realm of Crossroads: Myth, a vibrant secondary marketplace plays a pivotal role in enhancing the player experience and facilitating an in-game economy.&#x20;

It gives players the freedom to trade, sell, or purchase items, allowing a healthy circulation of assets and fostering competitive game play.&#x20;

More importantly, it enables players to realize the value of their in-game accomplishments and investments, thus enhancing the immersive and rewarding nature of the game.

Players have the opportunity to list items for sale or purchase on the secondary marketplace, quoting their preferred price in either an in-game currency or Tez (i.e. XTZ).&#x20;

In the same vein, players can make offers using their choice of in-game currency or Tez.&#x20;

The secondary marketplace is exclusively dedicated to Crossroads: Myth related items and NFTs. Although there are no marketplace fees, transactions are subject to a royalty fee.

Moreover, players have the option to trade Crossroads: Myth related NFTs on external platforms such as Objkt.&#x20;

However, this approach entails certain differences. For instance, listings on Objkt will be subject to both the marketplace's fees and the royalty fee.&#x20;

Additionally, transactions on these platforms will be conducted purely in Tez, with no option for listing items in or accepting offers in other in-game currencies.

### Multi-Asset Peer-to-Peer Trading

Beyond the marketplace, Crossroads: Myth also supports multi-asset peer-to-peer trading. This feature allows players to bundle multiple in-game items for trading.&#x20;

Similarly, offers can be made using a bundle of different in-game items.&#x20;

Once both parties agree to the trade, the items change hands accordingly.&#x20;

This level of flexibility and versatility in trading further enriches the gaming experience and contributes to a dynamic, player-driven economy.

# Random Number Generator (RNG)

On Chance, Luck, & Destiny

Crossroads: Myth leverages a pseudo-random number generator (RNG) for injecting randomness into its game mechanics, drawing on the [Tezos Randomizer](https://github.com/asbjornenge/tezos-randomizer) developed by [Asbjornenge](https://github.com/asbjornenge).&#x20;

Our enhanced version creates a random range of entropy, combining storage entropy with passed entropy to generate numbers within the specific range needed.

Although the system is technically deterministic, it becomes exceedingly challenging for even the most technologically proficient user or baker to predict or manipulate the result of the randomizer contract for a transaction within a particular block.

The advantage of this implementation is a scalable, cost-effective, fair, and reliable random number generator that doesn't compromise security or place undue financial burden on the team or players.

# Referral System

Recruit Allies, Reap Rewards

The on-chain referral system in Crossroads: Myth adds a unique community-driven growth mechanism which seeks to create a dynamic, vibrant, and rapidly expanding gaming environment.

Through the referral system, veteran players are incentivized to mentor newcomers, and are rewarded based on their referees’ in-game performance and activity measured through player levels.

Upon reaching a certain level, players will have access to a unique referral link that contains their Tezos address, to be shared with others yet to join the game.&#x20;

When a new player joins after clicking on this referral link, the referral will be temporarily attributed to the Tezos address in the link.

### Referral Points

Referrers will be awarded points for each level up achieved by their referrals, starting from 0 points at Level 1,  and reaching up to a set number of points at higher levels (for example, 5 points every level until level 10).&#x20;

The referrer's potential for point accumulation is limitless, and they are also incentivized to encourage their referrals to progress through the early stages of playing Crossroads: Myth.

### Referral Rewards

Referral rewards will be divided into tiers based on Referral Points. Upon reaching a tier, referrers become eligible to claim its associated reward. Rewards may consist of in-game assets such as booster packs, rare items, achievements, and other in-game elements.&#x20;

### On-Chain Referrals

Player referrals are monitored and recorded on-chain, and will be updated accordingly based on in-game activity, such as whenever a referral levels up.&#x20;

All referral data is transparent and fully public at any point in time.

Referrers will be able to see a list of all players they’ve referred and their current levels, and are also encouraged to guide them further in their journey in Crossroads: Myth.

### Referral Activity Window

The gaming activity of new referrals will be tracked for the first 14 days after they’ve joined Crossroads: Myth as a new player.

After the first 14 days, the referrer will no longer receive any referral points.&#x20;

Newly joined players will also have a brief window of two days to set the wallet address of their respective referrer.

This grants players the autonomy to reward the player that has most influenced them in their decision-making, and supersedes any temporary address from other referral links.&#x20;

On the other hand, after the brief window of two days is up, players will no longer have the ability to set their referrer. At this point, any temporary referral address will become permanent.

# Tokenomics

Understanding Crossroads: Myth Tokenomics

The token economics of Crossroads: Myth is structured around a dual-token model, namely:

1. a governance token (CRDS) enabling stakeholders to participate in decision-making processes and earn rewards proportionate to their stakes
2. a liquidity reward token (GEMS) that can be utilised to redeem exclusive items, special benefits, and in-game power boosts.

Players will be entitled to purchase governance tokens (CRDS) based on their in-game performance and achievements. Subsequently, they will be able to stake these tokens and receive proportional rewards from all players' activities on Crossroads: Myth.

40% of the game's specific revenue streams, including royalties and fees, will be shared among stakeholders. Players will also be able to claim their earnings at any point.&#x20;

<figure><img src="https://2805689426-files.gitbook.io/~/files/v0/b/gitbook-x-prod.appspot.com/o/spaces%2FLYndNKENvbexMztunlxG%2Fuploads%2FMLG1ZQLjuHdcTAzVex4E%2Frevenue-distribution-transparent.png?alt=media&amp;token=11f4334f-0123-4469-9388-de96935a4b18" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

Upon unstaking of the CRDS governance tokens, a standard exit fee of 10% will be imposed, where half (5%) is burnt, and the remaining half (5%) is evenly distributed among the existing CRDS stakeholders.

The liquidity reward token (GEMS) will serve as incentives to liquidity providers of CRDS-related liquidity pools. There will be no additional minting of CRDS tokens to serve as liquidity incentives.

GEMS are tradable on marketplaces as well and may be used to obtain limited-time or limited-quantity items as well as special temporary boosts, some of which may impact gameplay.

The token economics of Crossroads: Myth is designed with fairness and meritocracy in mind, rewarding players based on in-game performance. We aim to avoid excessive token inflation while providing sustainable real returns from staking.
