Game Overview

Game Components & Mechanics of Crossroads: Myth

There are a variety of game components and mechanics in Crossroads: Myth and we will provide a brief introduction here before going into detail for each of the relevant parts.

1. Land

Each land is a unique 1/1 NFT and can be obtained by using a “Land Deed Scroll”. When deployed by a player, each land will start to produce gold, with the amount determined by the land’s level which can be upgraded over time given enough investment by the player. However, there is a limit to the number of deployed lands a player can have at any time, depending on his level. “Land Deed Scrolls” can be obtained through booster packs, quests, and exploration. There is also no maximum supply set on the number of lands in the game.

Units are characters that players can deploy in a squad, after which they can send a squad to participate in quests or garrison them to protect their land from other players. Each race will have different units, with varying stats and abilities.

Players can also equip units with weapons, armor and accessories to provide a boost to their combat prowess. Some weapons and armor may be upgraded to higher levels, or even enhanced by mana to become more powerful.

There are also various one-use items throughout the game which can be used by players for temporary buffs or debuffs.

Players can choose to form guilds once they reach a higher level and pay the necessary costs in setting up a guild. Guilds can participate in dungeon raids and have access to a guild research tree that has benefits for their members. Guilds will have to be upgraded to increase the maximum number of members they can have.

In Crossroads: Myth, players are presented with a rich, expansive world map teeming with a variety of locations to explore. It's a land filled with wonder, mystery, and adventure, inviting players to explore and interact with its many facets.

Quests are tile-based maps that players can navigate and encounter monsters, treasures, or other opportunities and challenges. There are various types of quests that players can choose to undertake, with different requirements, rewards, and objectives.

There are various types of monsters across the lands of Mythenia. Squads can attack monsters or other players using one AP, and damage will be dealt to units and/or monsters in order of their speed.

Companions are virtual pets that grow together with players. Each companion is a unique NFT and its name and description may be customized by players through a lorekeeper. A companion’s stats and attributes may also be upgraded over time based on a player’s actions.

The Crossroads: Myth Vassal system is similar to the scholarship system in other web3 games where experienced players may accept and guide new players (vassals) through the leasing of a Land NFT, lowering the barrier to entry for many.

There are various booster packs in Crossroads: Myth, some of which may be purchased with the in-game currency Gold or which may be obtained through quests. Players will receive random items when they open a booster pack.

When a squad is not in active use, a player can rent out his squad as mercenaries for other players to use in quests and raids. Units and items are locked for mercenary squads, and a player may reclaim his rented squad when the allotted rental period is up.

Each player may also choose to invest gold and time into research which can grant boosts in various areas from combat prowess to gold production for his lands. Each research tier will progressively require more gold and time before it is completed.

The lorekeeper system plays an important role in ensuring the customization of Mythenia’s assets are aligned with its lore. Players will have to engage the services of a lorekeeper at a fixed or pre-specified rate to customize their land, companion, or other unique assets.

Crossroads: Myth follows a tiered referral system that progressively rewards referrers based on the in-game progress of their referees up to a certain level where the players become more experienced.
